2017 Legislative Activity

In 2017 Our SFPE liaison accompanied members from the FMAO group on a trip to the capitol to discuss these topics below with our Oklahoma legislators.

The Fire Marshals Association of Oklahoma (FMAO) legislative committee had a meeting in 2017 here are some of the things that were discussed:

SB 113, SB 283, SB 1168, and HB 1593 – More research must be done before forming an opinion.

HB 1291 – The Oklahoma Fire Chiefs Association does not support passage.  FMAO does not support passage.

HB 1291 – Not really a fire marshal issue, going to get more information.

SB 25 – FMAO is waiting on an opinion from the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

SB 647 – Concerns collective bargaining.  SFPE doesn’t really have a stake in this.
